The female finalists have already been announced. Now, it’s time to reveal the male finalists for the LaRosa’s “High School MVP of the Year” award!
The six male athletes in the running for this year’s award include: Joe Albers (Moeller), Denicos Allen (Hamilton), Bo Cordell (Indian Hill), Luke Maile (CovCath), Orlando Scales (Elder), and Orlando Williams (Princeton). All of the finalists were nominated for the award by area high schools, fans, and coaches.
This year’s winner will be announced at the annual Buddy LaRosa’s Sports Hall of Fame Banquet on June 28th.
Here is a look at the 2009 male finalists:
Joe Albers (Senior / Moeller) - All-American swimmer, two-time state champion
Denicos Allen (Senior / Hamilton) – Three-sport star, signed to play football at Michigan State
Bo Cordell (Senior / Indian Hill) - Football and baseball star, finalist for “That’s My Boy” award
Luke Maile (Senior / CovCath) - Mr. Kentucky Baseball, signed to play at the University of Kentucky
Orlando Scales (Senior / Elder) - All-American wrestler, ranked #1 in the country in weight class
Orlando Williams (Senior / Princeton) - Cincinnati Player of the Year for basketball, signed to play at Miami (OH)
