It’s time for another rousing edition of “Pick’em Thursday”! This week, we’re diving head-first into the G.M.C. as Mason heads to Oak Hills.
Mason (1-2) comes into this matchup reeling just a bit. In fact, the Comets have dropped their last two games after opening with an impressive win against Trotwood-Madison. Mason will look to get the ship moving in the right direction this week when they begin conference play against the Highlanders.
“You know, it’s a new season,” said Mason head coach David Sedmak. “And, you know everybody’s 0-0 at this point and we can’t wait to get it going.”
As for Oak Hills (2-1), the Highlanders head into this game on fire. After dropping their opener to La Salle, the Highlanders have responded with back-to-back wins over Harrison and Walnut Ridge. Thankfully for Oak Hills, they get to begin conference play at home.
“It’s great,” said Oak Hills head coach Kurry Commins. “Playing in the G.M.C. against the caliber of coaching and the caliber of athletes, I don’t know if you’ll find anything better. To be able to open the G.M.C. here at home with a great atmosphere and a great environment going on, I think our kids are very, very ready.”
So, who do you think will win this match-up? Tell us by VOTING in our weekly poll! You can find it on YOUR school’s page.
You can catch our weekly Tailgate Party at Oak Hills High School beginning at 5pm. Kickoff between the Comets and Highlanders is set for 7:30pm.
