Find Out Who Selected Zach Hurley!

report notes | more reports

Former Springboro High School baseball standout, Zach Hurley, will get a shot at big leagues if he chooses.  The right-fielder was picked the 45th round of 2009 MLB Draft by the Florida Marlins.

The left-handed hitting Hurley finished 2009 with a .346 batting average, six home runs, and 53 runs batted in.  Prior to the season, Baseball America named him the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League’s third best pro prospect.

Before heading to Columbus to play for the Buckeyes, Hurley dominated the diamond at Springboro.  While playing for the Panthers, Hurley picked up all-state honors in both his junior and senior seasons.  In fact, he holds 10 school baseball records.

Since Hurley still has a year of eligibility, he still has the option of returning to Ohio State for his season.
