report notes | more reports

Former Middletown Middie, Robert Sabo, will get a shot at the ultimate baseball dream, the big leagues.  Sabo was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 38th round of the 2009 MLB Draft.

Sabo has spent the past three seasons playing for Kent State University.  This past season, he pitched in 22 games for the Golden Flashes, going 3-1 with an earned run average of 6.84.

Prior to landing at Kent State, Sabo earned three varsity letters while playing at Middletown High School.  In fact, he was named first team all-GMC his senior season.

Sabo does have the opportunity to pass on the Indians and return to Kent State, since he is only a redshirt sophomore.
